Most Wanted Person This Week

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office most wanted person of the week is:

Christine Theresa Mejia of Fresno. A judge has issued a bench warrant for failing to report to court on felony charges of identity theft.

A Fresno County Sheriff’s deputy took a report of identity theft. The victim explained that his bank had found suspicious activity associated with his accounts. Property crimes detectives took over the investigation and discovered the name Christine Mejia was attached to auto loan application. As detectives dug deeper, Mejia’s name surfaced in other fraudulent activity. A warrant was issued for her arrest. Weeks later, a deputy responded to a trespassing call and contacted Mejia. Seeing she was a wanted person, she was turned over to detectives and arrested for several counts of identity theft.

She was booked into the Fresno County Jail and released the following day after qualifying for Fresno County’s $0 bail emergency order. Mejia is on active parole and has failed to report to court to face her charges.

Christine Mejia is 31 years old, 5’0”, 125 lbs. with brown eyes and brown hair. She has a tattoo of the letter “S” under her left eye.
